Problems, Bad Luck, and Mishaps

The last week had, as always, very positive but also negative moments. The most beautiful experiences were definitely jumping and swimming at the Kaiate Falls, bowling together, surfing at sunset, and playing volleyball at the campsite. Particularly beautiful and impressive was the full moon rising over the sea.

In camp, we (Theo, Laura, Lotta, and I) played many card games just like the others, and among other things, Theo and I managed to get the ingredients for a mango crumble with strawberries and ice cream. In the evening, the four of us watched Harry Potter in the van of the two lovely people who participated in everything.

Theo and I said goodbye to the group for a while because we wanted a job at the strawberry farm. However, after the interview so far nothing has materialized, but we will receive another update on Sunday. Due to the premature cancellation, we returned to the camp to tackle the kiwifruit (Phase 3 kiwifruit job) together with the others. Extremely annoying and again somewhat disheartening to be doing the same thing again. This mainly led to another low in me, stemming from the longing for my own home, family, friends, and the exhausting 10-hour work shifts alongside living at the campsite.

However, fortunately, this can be managed as I am surrounded by very lovely and cool people. I don't feel alone and therefore feel much safer. Nevertheless, I find it difficult to enjoy this time since I have barely made any money and, due to all the incidents (flat tires, bee stings, wetsuit theft,…), I feel like I’m treading water.

We have the weekend off, so today is set aside for car repairs and a beach day. Even though the weather is somewhat mediocre. I hope you can enjoy the first snow in Dresden. Best wishes to everyone!
