In Peru, there are numerous ruins from the time of the Inca. Not only in Cusco can you see them, but also in Lima.

One of these ruins is located in Pachacamac. The city was built before the time of the Inca and after its integration into the Inca Empire, more buildings were constructed there.

Former temples, administrative buildings and residences stretch over a large area here, and among other things, many people used to pilgrimage here to consult the oracle.

On top of the hill, the Templo del Sol towers above all the buildings.

This temple is an especially important cultural heritage as the Inca revered the sun as a god and built this temple in honor of it.

The ascent to the Templo del Sol is sandy and very steep, but definitely worth it.

And not only to admire the ruins, but also because of the breathtaking views in all directions.

Even today, the ruins still reveal what a magnificent city this once was, before unfortunately a large part of the buildings was destroyed by the Spanish conquerors. How wonderful must it have looked during its heyday!
