If our two engine temperature sensors had already resigned before the start of the journey, we were fortunate enough to ensure safety at the machines with the remaining dual sensor.
Only the sensors had to be replaced, so we decided to test our logistics planned for this case.
On the one hand, we ordered the reducing pieces from Amazon with delivery to a package shop in Konz, since the dual sensors have a smaller thread, and the sensors to my daughter. From there, the dual sensors were sent to a parcel station in Konz with DHL. The latter with express overnight delivery, delivery on the following day.
Initially, this proved to be completely unproblematic. As can be seen from the picture, DHL confirmed everything, now we were just waiting for the notification of when the package would be stored in the parcel station and with which code we could free the spare part from captivity.
That was the idea - what we had not taken into account is that we would have had to book the parcel station with DHL. So the package reached the station, but since no booking was made by us, the delivery person took the package back. No information, no indication, it was not until Saturday, when there was still no information about the delivery at 9:00 AM, that we contacted DHL directly.
Thankfully, the package was not taken back to the distribution station on Saturday, but was delivered to a package shop in Konz. At 1:00 PM, we finally received the information about where the package was located and could finally receive our long-awaited spare part shortly before the shop closed.
The reducing pieces from Amazon were already delivered on Friday. We had already picked them up in the package shop in Konz in the morning without any major difficulties.
Now we have to find out where we have to tickle DHL so that what is stated on the confirmation actually happens and we are not prevented from continuing the journey by the powerful bureaucracy.
Maybe you could call Amazon from DHL.
We still haven't figured out how to sign up for a parcel station. We have reluctantly installed the app, but this approach has also not led to any results. Now we probably have to create an account, which I have, but which is not accepted by the app.
So to everyone who embarks on such a journey, find out in advance how parts can be shipped in case of an emergency. We have a lot on board, but it's always the same.
Of course, everything also has a good side, we have made the last purchases, replenished our stocks of Franziskaner Dunkel beer, bought delicious asparagus, stocked up on Greek appetizers, and spent 4 hours with our wagon in the fresh air.
