13.03. In the mountains: The Grampians

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 16.03.2018

After so much sea, it was time for mountains again. After 500 km of pretty boring straight driving at -100 km/h, a different -much greener- world opened up to us, the 'Grampians'. Outdoor enthusiasts feel particularly at home here, as the area is popular with climbers for 'abseiling' (which is actually what it's called) and hikers.

We are now in the state of Victoria and the clock shows half an hour later (now 10 hours ahead of Germany).

For three nights, the 'Ellimata Cottage' is our home.

The animal world is bustling here, with kangaroos hopping through the front yard as if it's the most normal thing, a deer standing right in front of the restaurant, and the white cockatoos posing themselves on the terrace in the morning. They look harmless, but they can make a lot of noise that will make you quite startled....
