Like being at home

Soon the first month is done. Today was decision day. Either today 2.5 hours to a campground at the lake and then tomorrow 4.5 hours to the Grampians or drive almost 6 hours to the Grampians today and stay there for 2 days.

The Grampians is a mountain range. We decided to go for the 6 hours. Being on the move every day is exhausting. Wake up at 7:30, get ready, have breakfast, do the dishes, pack everything up and leave the campground by 10:00 at the latest. That is really stressful.

So tomorrow we will sleep in, have a relaxed breakfast and then go for a short hike.

But looking back, the 6-hour drive was quite exhausting. It was super windy today. The camper was swaying back and forth. On top of that, the road was bad. Someone should complain about German roads again. You all know that from your own neighborhoods. Speed limit due to road damage. We would have had a speed limit of 30 km/h on these roads. Here, you were allowed to drive at 100 km/h. Ideal conditions for whiplash. The road conditions combined with constant countersteering because of the wind was a good training for the muscles in our hands and arms. Somehow, the wind only tugged at our car. You couldn't tell with the trucks. Carsten says they are heavier. But we are working on our weight as well. Seems like it's not enough yet.

After the subtropics and the desert, we have now reached the fields and pastures of Australia.

At certain stretches, you could also think that you are driving through Lower Saxony.

The only two highlights on the trip were the Pink Lake

And the beach of Port Elliot
