Several attempts to book the train tickets online failed. So we went to the train station to buy the tickets on site. The largest train station in Petersburg is called 'Moscow Station' and it is probably the most confusing train station we have ever seen. The queues at the ticket counter were long. The staff relaxed. After about an hour, it was our turn.

Unfortunately, the selected train departs tomorrow morning at seven and is relatively expensive. Therefore, we will probably have more time in the 4-star hotel that we have booked there. After the floor on the ferry, the apartment in Helsinki, and now the hostel, this will probably be a pleasant increase in comfort. Even though the apartment and hostel were super conveniently located and by no means bad.

After finally getting the tickets and having a quick snack, we took a bus to the Hermitage. The museum is one of the largest and most important museums in the world. The entire complex of buildings that houses the museum and includes the famous Winter Palace is truly impressive.

As often in Petersburg, you feel like you're in a painting. After several hours, we had enough and took the subway. The St. Petersburg Metro is one of the deepest subway systems in the world and is considered one of the most architecturally beautiful in the world.

Now we have to pack our backpacks again and tomorrow we will go about 750 kilometers southeast to the Russian capital, the largest city on our trip...

One last greeting from St. Petersburg
