Goodbye Germany

Публикувано: 11.04.2021

So my dear ones.

Just like my wonderful sister, I am now starting to document some of my experiences on my trips abroad.

After months of stress, back and forth, questioning whether we are allowed to leave or not, and a few nervous breakdowns on my part, the time had finally come. We were allowed to go. So off to Ireland!

So I packed my things (of course, as always, at the very last minute) and set off. My first stop was in Bad Saulgau. There, I hopped into a friend's car and drove to Frankfurt Airport without any traffic or other complications for 3 hours. So far, so good.

And there we stood. At a huge airport at 12:30. Thanks to the unnecessary 3 hours we had until our flight, we were able to get a sufficient overview of the airport premises. After a very emotional farewell to our loved ones who we had to leave behind in Germany, we made our way to our gate, fully loaded.

The flight was great and relatively short, only 1.5 hours, so very pleasant. We took off in the rain in Germany and unfortunately landed in the rain in Ireland too. But so what. We will spend the first few days in our room anyway because of the quarantine.

I quickly realized on the bus ride to our hostel that I find Dublin extremely cute. Those of you who have been to Ireland before know what I'm talking about. (Laugh. Greetings to Simone at this point). Small cute houses with little cute walls, avenues everywhere, and 90% of the shops here are in black. When we arrived at the hostel, we immediately ordered pizza (which is an absolute must in Dublin) because I felt like I could devour a whole hippopotamus. Since they don't have my usual type of pizza here, we went for the meat monster instead. It was delicious but, as usual, too much for me, and now it's time to sleep.

PS: The sheep named Schnucki has been my companion since I was 4 years old and is, of course, also with me as a mascot on this journey. 😇🐑
