After two exhausting days spent mostly in the car, we took it easy today.
Port Lincoln is a beautiful port town. It's a bit hilly, which means most of the houses here, including our campground, have a sea view.
We originally came here to go shark diving. Unfortunately, we found out that the tours only take place on certain weekdays and we didn't book in advance. Port Lincoln is actually inviting to stay longer so we could catch up on the shark tour, but due to seasickness and lack of time, we reluctantly decided to leave the fish to be fish and continue to Coober Pedy tomorrow.
Nevertheless, we had a great day here in Port Lincoln. Because Port Lincoln has more to offer than just a harbor and sharks.
So we quickly drove to Whalers Way Road, where you can see beautiful cliffs and a fantastic secluded bay. Unfortunately, the gravel road that leads around the entire cliff section ended abruptly in front of a closed gate. Next to the gate was a pay booth... unfortunately closed. Just as we were about to turn around, a man came driving along the road and explained to us that in order to get through the gate, we would have to go to the tourist center in town to pick up the key and pay admission there. However, Whalers Way is about 30km outside the city center and it was getting late in the day, so it wasn't worth it for us anymore.
Nevertheless, it was definitely worth driving there anyway. Maybe we missed some great rock formations and viewpoints, but we were still able to see a lot of the beautiful nature up to this gate.
We then spent the evening relaxing in a restaurant at the harbor with beer and fish.
