The night was not as peaceful as expected - Juliane sounded the alarm at 11:00 pm - she had spotted the Northern Lights. Everyone except Paul was already in bed and sleeping more or less soundly. Going outside in the fresh cold air right after waking up is quite a challenge! But oh well - just a quick look and then back under the warm blanket. I think only Juliane managed to stay outside longer.
After breakfast - today we had scrambled eggs for a change - we set off towards Andenes. It is located at the northernmost tip of the island chain and has been a dead end since yesterday. Unfortunately, the ferry only runs until September 4th! Our neighbors - for the last night - raved about the whale safari offered there, so we were willing to take the 'little' detour. On the way, we even saw a sea eagle while driving by. After the road was anything but enjoyable and the weather was not cooperating - it keeps raining and is very windy - tomorrow will show whether it was really a good idea. The tickets are booked and luckily we have travel sickness tablets with us.
