I checked out of the hotel at 10:00 AM, but fortunately, I was able to leave my large backpack there. Since Shun wanted to go to Bled today, we would only see each other again in the evening before I would head off to Budapest.

I walked through the fruit and flower market and visited the free art gallery that was currently exhibiting the works of the Slovenian artist Mladen Stropnik. Very abstract art was displayed there, and I didn’t stay long.

After having the remains of my breakfast at Prešeren Square at noon, I made my way back to Tivoli Park. I wandered through the pleasant green woods of the park and later enjoyed the peace on one of the many park benches.

In the late afternoon, I made my way one last time to the “Simbol Hostel,” where I picked up my backpack and walked to the Sokol tavern. There, I was to meet Shun to enjoy traditional Slovenian food.

Since Slovenia has been strongly influenced by German and Austrian cuisine in the past, the menu reminded me a lot of typical German home cooking. I had roast pork with mashed potatoes.

Shun and I spent the evening together by the river and at Prešeren Square, where we watched some street performers.

At the train station, we parted ways. I had to wait for my train to Budapest, and Shun would be heading to Venice tomorrow. We said our goodbyes and went our separate ways.
