Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon

After getting enough rest, we drove to Hoover Dam and towards the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon. Hoover Dam is very impressive and then we realized, while standing on the observation bridge, that we were now in another state of the USA: Arizona, with a time zone change. After admiring Hoover Dam from a distance, we happily continued towards the Grand Canyon and discovered even more facets of the landscape. After turning off the highway, we entered a landscape full of Joshua Trees. In the midst of this, there were simple wooden huts where people live. For us, it is unimaginable to be so far away from civilization. In the last few miles downhill to the canyon, it revealed itself in beautiful colors: red, dark green, bluish, and sandstone-colored. Unfortunately, we only got to see it from a distance. In the visitor center, we learned that a simple trip to the Skywalk would cost $80. That was too expensive for us, so we decided to go back to Las Vegas and visit a premium outlet center. Just like in Germany, there are hardly any special bargains at the outlet. After that, we went shopping again at a typical American supermarket. Too many options, overwhelming. Tomorrow, we will spend the whole day on the Las Vegas Strip. We are excited to see what superlatives await us there.

More pictures will follow, like yesterday around 5 pm...
