The city on the Caribbean coast has its charm with its many colorful colonial-style houses. From there, you can go on trips to some islands. However, I only stayed in the city for a day to continue to Tayrona National Park. With its picturesque appearance, the city attracts many tourists, which in turn leads to a high number of street vendors. Especially in the evening, hundreds of them walk through the streets and want to sell drinks, tours, or jewelry.
So I spent a day exploring the city. Along the way, I met a young man from Cartagena who told me that one of the museums can be visited for free on Sundays (it was a Sunday). There, I learned a little about the indigenous people of the city and how the place was conquered by the Spaniards. In the evening, I stumbled upon a dance spectacle by chance. Every Sunday, numerous Colombians and some 'gringos' gather there for Zumba. And wow! The dancers definitely did justice to the Colombian hip swing (and not just the ladies)!
