From Clearwater Beach, we continue south to Cape Coral.
Along the way, we try out a Waffle House. There, we see an advertisement for employees and the hourly rate as a grill master ($12 - $16 / hour).
We arrive in Cape Coral just in time before a thunderstorm.
The motel (Dolphin Key Resort) is a one-story complex. The first and second room we inspect smell strongly musty. It's not until the third room that is acceptable, with a king-size bed.
For dinner, we go to the bar next door.

Marie enjoys delicious shrimp and white Sangria. There is live music playing as well.
A real 'pick up joint'. It's lively - with screaming girls (of older age) and cool bikers.
Next to us is an Italian man who emigrated to the USA when he was 16 years old. Marie speaks to him in Italian and he tells us about Napoli, where he's from. He has had the typical career here: from an Italian restaurant to a bar, and now real estate in Florida. His wife is German and is with her family in New Jersey.
The next day, we enjoy the beach.
At around 3:00, the sky darkens and we retreat - just in time. Shortly after we reach the car, it starts to rain heavily.
Unfortunately, we receive a parking ticket for causing obstruction
