Arriving in L.A., we had to say goodbye to our beloved car after about 7 weeks and nearly 10,000 kilometers driven. It served us well and it was a very nice time overall! We highly recommend the car rental!! Escape-campervan.com
We continued to Hollywood by bus. This is the dream factory of many stars and celebrities....The film world and all its famous people live here. But music idols like Elvis and Michael Jackson also settled here. Unfortunately, the Hollywood Boulevard (to be honest) is quite shabby and only fascinates with its Walk of Fame! Once you have walked the stars with all their names and seen all the Batmans, Spidermans, and Mickey Mouses of the world, you can turn to other parts of L.A. Those who are important still live in Beverly Hills.... where stars and celebrities have moved to find peace elsewhere away from the tourists. In the large beautiful villas of Beverly Hills and Bel Air, it is mostly lawyers, plastic surgeons, and other well-to-do people who live here, right in front of them is the most expensive shopping street in the world, Rodeo Drive. L.A. is really HUGE. The public transport system needs improvement and you should always bring a bit of time. The journey from the center to the famous Venice Beach took us at least 2 hours. The beach promenade of Venice is simply a colorful spectacle, a mix of music, food, T-shirt shops, medical marijuana shops, and fitness obsession! Yuppies meet hippies here. Seeing and being seen! Biceps next to biceps...those who train here have practiced in front of the mirror for a long time! A wonderful place to people-watch J....it's practically encouraged here!
Goodbye USA...off to the airport...a painfully long bus ride through L.A.'s traffic. As a final note, there was a loud incident. Shortly after we arrived at the airport, chaos broke out... allegedly an attack, gunshots, panicked people... In any case, it suddenly became restless and eerie at the airport... The already chaotic traffic around the airport collapsed... Ten minutes later and we could have missed our flight... The result: nothing, just some loud noises that some people mistook for gunshots... Some lay on the floor, others panicked... The airport was definitely temporarily shut down... We live in strange times...
